Insurance for Wigs

Navigating the insurance process for medical wigs can be intimidating, but we're here to guide you through each step.

Here's what you need to know:

Step 1: Medical Diagnosis

The first step is to have a clear medical diagnosis from your dermatologist or physician.

This diagnosis should state that you have a medical condition, such as alopecia or cancer, that has resulted in hair loss.

Step 2: Prescription for a Cranial Prostheses

Your doctor must prescribe a cranial prostheses.

This prescription should specifically mention the term "cranial prostheses", as insurance companies may not recognize the term "wig".

Step 3: Consultation with a Cranial Prosthesis Specialist

Schedule an appointment with our cranial prosthesis specialist to discuss the specifics of your medical wig.

We can then determine an estimate of the costs involved.

Step 4: Submitting Your Claim

After we determine your desired wig, you will provide us with all necessary documents needed to submit your claim.

You will receive an email with a link to provide your documents securely. Every insurance company has a different process, so it's important to be patient.

Step 5: Receive Your Medical Wig

Once your medical wig has been approved & payment has been received, we will begin processing your order.

Please remember while most insurance companies cover a substantial portion of the costs for a cranial prostheses, it may vary depending on your specific insurance plan. If your insurance company does not cover the cost of your cranial protheses, we will work with you & may be able to offer payment plans.

If you have any questions about this process, please feel free to contact us.

We are here to support you every step of the way.
